I just today found out that i need not run the gen.
Rv furnace fan current draw.
I ve looked everywhere in the info books that came with our 2000 winnebago adventurer g37 to try to determine the current draw of the furnace fan.
However we are planning a trip where we will not have a a c power source and will rely on the house batteries to run the gas furnace during the nights.
While reading another thread it was said that the heater fan on his unit is 12 volts.
Ps i do not want to change out the heater or add a cat heater simply looking for an upgraded electric motor.
I have never used the gas furnace as a sole heating source.
Even though the electrical power supplied to these rv s is designed to be adequate for the average family while they camp far too often the added equipment that may be used will overload the circuit breaker.
The typical furnace will draw about 8 amps of power.
To turn on the furnace duh.
Yes the furnace will run on batteries.
Heat is actually produced from propane but the blower fan runs on battery.
It is a good idea to have solar or generator power to supplement the charging of your batteries when not connected to shore power.
Will a rv furnace run on battery.
Suburban sf 30 furnace with 232682 3 12vdc electric motor with 6 5 to 7amp current draw.
With 12 volt blowers that draw up to 10 amps we offer less noise with more airflow and btus as high as 40 000 to fit all sizes of rvs to maintain even heat throughout your rv.
My desire is to reduce the current consumption by upgrading the motor without reducing the air flow much if at all.
